Textile Thursday - fabrics and details by Chanel

Coco #Chanel started use jersey and tricot textiles in a very innovative way but her wool jersey, tweed and bouclĂ© suits have became the most famous designs of her work. The travelling suit consisted of a cardigan jacket, a pleated skirt, a low-belted pullover top paired with lots of pearls and worn with low-heeled shoes, became the casual look in expensive women's wear.

Karl Lagerfeld, the head designer and creative director for the fashion house Chanel since 1983, perfectly follows and reinvents Coco Chanel's fabulous looks season by season. He said once:
Chanel is composed of only a few elements: white camellias, quilted bags, Austrian doorman's jackets, pearls, chains, shoes with black toes. I use these elements like music notes to play with.
